Environment Day 2014

Check this out! So many happy faces totally involved in planting trees, this is the 2014 Environment Day Celebration happening at Jhamtse Gatsal. After planting we had our regular classes, and in the evening at around 4:30 pm we had a very special program in which the students of 4th and 5th grade participated. They gave presentations on different topics related to the  environment (they included different environmental issues and the ways to solve those issues). After the presentation we watched a video on the waste management system of India. It was an amazing video and I think everybody learned so much from it, especially the kids. We had a great celebration and  I am so proud of the kids for such excellent presentations.

I liked seeing that there are several different kinds of trees being planted. Are there any that produce nuts or other food?

The trees seem well-protected. I look forward to seeing them thrive.

I am always blown away by the wonderful breadth of education our children are getting, the wonderful work of the teachers. Thank you so much, Gombu la, Madam
