Jhamtse Gatsal is a community where all the members have a sense of adjustment without discrimination in the name of religion, caste and age. When some sponsors and volunteers visit here, sometimes due to a shortage of rooms, we local staffs have to adjust our rooms, shifting around and sharing with each other.
Before completing our new building, three staff would often share one room — but since the 29th of September we no longer have to share our rooms. On that day, the lower part of the new building was finished, and we teachers got one room each. We were very excited to shift to our new rooms. Each room has four cupboards, one bed, and one table. We have enjoyed personalizing the spaces to make them our own.
The new building is a two-floor building. The upper floor is still under construction, and is about to be finished. There are 9 rooms in the lower floor. One will be the “clubhouse,” one is the Ama la’s store room, and 7 rooms are now occupied by teachers. Now we can keep our belongings properly and we can invite our friends to have tea and have some fun with our colleagues.
