Twenty-Two New Children

The twenty-two new children arrived at Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community, Lumla on September 6, 2009.  Most of the children are semi-orphans, but a few have parents. Most have never been to school. They all are very cute & smart, and so loving. All are in the age group of four to six years.

Jhamtse Gatsal, Tibetan for “Garden of Love and Compassion”, is a children’s community located in the Indian foothills of the Himalayas. Opened in 2006, it is currently school and home for 74 children from disadvantaged family situations in the nearby villages.
