Visit of Lobsang Delek Rinpoche and Other Lamas

We had planned to start our yearly vacation on the 9th of this month, but due to  Gyurtoe Khen Soor Lobsang Delek’s visit to our school, we have postponed the vacation by one day.  Today, October 10th, is one of the school’s luckiest days as Khen Rinpoche has visited our school.  This morning around 9:30 the school authorities, staff, students, and the local people all heartily welcomed Khen Rinpoche as he arrived at the school.  At 10 a.m. Rinpoche taught eight verses on how to train the mind, and followed the teaching by some other vows.  After the spiritual preaching, our students performed some multi-cultural dances and songs.

Upon finishing the above programs , all the students left on vacation. The school will reopen in 15 days at the end of the vacation.

Jhamtse Gatsal, Tibetan for “Garden of Love and Compassion”, is a children’s community located in the Indian foothills of the Himalayas. Opened in 2006, it is currently school and home for 74 children from disadvantaged family situations in the nearby villages.
