on August 22nd, 2010Sachi my dear friend,
We here in Jhamtse Gatsal received the news of your beloved father’s passing away with greatest grief and sadness and we all share your feeling at this moment of desperation and helplessness and send you and to your Mom our sincere heartfelt condolence!
We at Jhamtse Gatsal are going to hold a special prayer for the departed soul, your father’s peaceful transition and swift rebirth into a perfect human form.
Death is very much part of human existence and the wisest is to accept it as the integral part of our daily life and living, as no one knows when it will strike us; death knows no power, position, age or caste, creed, color or gender; it is truly the greatest leveler as well as the greatest Teacher. That’s why the topic of death and dying lie at the core of every major spiritual system and practice and it seems without having a strong awareness and understanding of this vital truth of human existence, any conscious spiritual attainment and inner human evolution is not possible.
I trust that with your inner strength and wisdom you shall overcome this tragedy and that you would be able to resume your normal life.
We are with you, Sachi, at this hour of grief!
On behalf of entire family of Jhamtse Gatsal

I’m sorry to hear the news of your father’s passing. I nearly lost my father a year ago, and it gave me a new appreciation for how unpredictable life is. I have no advice to give you. But I can tell you that in the short time I’ve known you it became apparent to me very quickly that you are positive, kind, inquisitive, strong and resourceful. These are gifts, and they will guide you past every obstacle. I know you will go through a difficult time, and I know you will come through it – you and your mom. It’s ok to feel everything you are feeling. You need to. Know that your friends, including me, are patient and giving and will be a source of warmth for you whenever you need it. Please keep in touch. I wish you and your family all the best. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Hannah

I am one of the sangha coordinators for Lobsang in America. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My father passed away six years ago. Though I can not know how you feel, I know how I felt. Life changes, it can be disorienting and we all deal with loss in our own way. Life goes on, but it changes. May love and compassion be with you.

on August 26th, 2010Dear Sachi,
I am sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing away. May he rest in peace, and may you and your Mom find the strength to bear the loss. This must not be an easy time for you and no words can compensate for the loss, but please know you and your Mom are very much in our thoughts and prayers. Although the pain of the loss doesn’t ever go away, but time is a great healer. I second Hannah’s kind suggestion to allow the grieving process its due course.
I will be working on a new newsletter for the Jhamtse community and will surely include a prayer message for you and your Mom.
Take care,
Vasudha
